Death Muammar Gaddafi, a despot who controls Libya for 42 years, may be celebrated quietly in the capital of Western countries. However, from Moscow, Russia, Prime Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that the killing of the colonel had violated the Geneva Conventions.

"We certainly have to rely on international law. As set forth, a person who was arrested by armed conflict must be treated a certain way. With whatever reason, the life of a prisoner of war should not be killed," he said as quoted by page of The Independent, Sunday, October 23, 2011 .

For Moscow, now the problem is whether the new Libyan government to respect the contract that was signed by Gaddafi. Because, in addition to oil contracts and arms trafficking, the Russian railway company has approved an agreement to build a railway between Sirte and Benghazi valued at Rp28, 2 trillion.

China initially raised objections to the attack on Gaddafi army. However, in recent weeks to determine, the Bamboo Curtain country is finally supporting the rebels.
